Penno Women Get Behind Georgia Garnett and the GWS Giants

A small group from the Pennant Hills Demons Women's program headed to Henson Park on Sunday 18th October to cheer on Georgia Garnett, affectionately known around the Club as GG, and the GWS Giants in their AFLW clash with Hawthorn. The match delivered a nail-biting finish, with the Giants holding on for a one-point victory, 7.13 (55) to 7.12 (54) and Georgia securing the victory with a mark in the dying seconds of the game. It was a memorable afternoon of footy and a fitting occasion for the Penno group to show their support.

For the women who attended, the connection goes beyond supporting the Giants. Georgia has been closely involved with the Pennant Hills Women’s Program in 2026 as a development coach, working with players at training sessions and on game days on their skills and game play. Her involvement has provided an opportunity for the playing group to learn directly from an AFLW footballer and draw on her experience as they develop their own game.

The time Georgia has given to the program has been met with plenty of support in return. Penno’s women have become enthusiastic followers of the Giants forward, and the trip to Henson Park was a chance to get behind someone who has been there to support them. The outing also brought members of the playing group together away following the conclusion of the home and away season, enjoying an afternoon on the sidelines, watching AFLW football and cheering on a familiar face.

Congratulations to Georgia and the Giants on the win, and thank you to Georgia for her ongoing contribution to the Penno Women’s Program.
