Firstly, and most importantly, stay safe and follow the government guidelines.
While football is exceptionally important to many of us, it pales into insignificance in comparison to the value of human life. During these unprecedented times, our club will continue to follow government guidelines in response to COVID-19. We ask all players, members, and supporters to also follow the government guidelines.
Though in saying the above it is our belief that there will be a 2020 season!
Following discussions with Sydney AFL we are working on the basis that there will be a 2020 season, in some form. While there a numerous options of what the 2020 season could look like; ranging from a full season starting in June running into October, a 9 week season starting in July / August or even a round-robin style season starting later in the year, these are hypothetical options but based on these scenarios there are 2 very important issues for our action
1. Players need to Keep fit
2. Players need to stay connected
To put a plan in place for both of these items we are having a meeting with all coaches (via Zoom) on Monday 20 April 2020. This meeting will be discussing how we ensure we have a whole of club strategy for staying fit and staying connected – with each coach taking the lead for a group of players. Stay tuned for more updates on both.

AFL Footy Tipping – Round 1 summary and update;
Thank you to the 50+ participants who submitted their tips in Round 1 of the Penno AFL “knockout” tipping competition.
While over 90% of participants selected a winning team (78% selected Richmond) we had a couple of people tip with their heart more than their head (Adelaide, Brisbane, and St Kilda).
We have taken the decision to cancel all the Round 1 tips and will restart the competition if and when the AFL 2020 Season is recommenced.

Yolande Webster wins the Burpee Challenge
Well done to Yolande Webster who has won our burpee challenge, the first of many social media exercise challenges that aim to bring the club together and foster connection at this challenging time.
Congrats Yolande!
Keep your eyes peeled for entries from our next challenge “max unbroken push-ups”.
We’ve already got a few entries in so this will be good
Do not forget about our sponsors
Our 2020 sponsors are standing by us in this challenging year, so we ask you to support them as well. Each Tuesday we are doing a Facebook “Sponsor Spotlight”. Stay tuned for these posts and where possible support the sponsors who support us.
Supporting each other
Finally, we aware of many people within our Club who are doing it tough financially with many experiencing the loss of work. If you have contacts that are seeking worker, both full time and casual, please contact Val Wade who will pass onto the players and members who will benefit the most.
