Sydney Football League Clubs
The Sydney Football League (SFL) will launch in April 2027 as New South Wales’ premier Australian Rules Football competition. Bringing together nine licensed foundation clubs, the league will feature Senior Men’s, Senior Women’s, Men’s Under 19.5s and Women’s Under 20s competitions, providing opportunities for emerging and established players to develop and compete at a higher level.
Created to raise playing standards and strengthen football development across Greater Sydney, the SFL aims to attract and retain talented players, coaches and officials while supporting pathways towards elite football. It will operate alongside AFL Sydney, which will continue to provide divisional, underage and Masters competitions, maintaining opportunities for players with different abilities and ambitions.
The Pennant Hills Demons have been awarded a foundation licence, representing Sydney’s Northwest in the new competition. Participation in the SFL marks a significant next chapter for the Club, connecting its player development programs with a competition designed to strengthen the future of football in New South Wales.
