Pennant Hills young gun Braeden Campbell starred with three goals in Saturday morning’s Under-17s NAB All Stars ‘Futures’ clash at the MCG.
In the curtain-raiser for the AFL premiership decider, the future Swan helped his side – Team Brown – to a 41-point win over their opposition, Team Dal Santo.
The sides were named after recently retired greats Jonathan Brown and Nick Dal Santo, with the pair giving speeches to the respective sides during the week. The game comprised players eligible for next year’s draft.
Campbell was one of the standouts. He started brilliantly, kicking the opening goal, and continued to impact the game, including a long-range left foot goal.
His work with the ball up for grabs, his disposal and clean hands will have impressed Swans recruiters, with Campbell up for grabs at the 2020 NAB AFL Draft.
He finished with 14 disposals and looks set to follow the likes of Callum Mills, Isaac Heeney and Nick Blakey as graduates of the Swans Academy onto the club’s list.
