This weekend four-time premiership player, Kieran Wright, plays his 350th open-age game for the Pennant Hills Demons.
Kieran is a true champion of the Club and his record ranks him amongst the very best to have donned the Demon’s ‘Red & Blue’ jumper. He was twice adjudged the Pennant Hills Footballer of the Year and Seniors Best & Fairest. In 2011, he won the Phelan Medal for the best player in the league, the pinnacle of achievement in the AFL Sydney competition.
Kieran has won four premierships—three in the Premier Division and one in Premier Division Reserves.
After eleven seasons in First Grade, Kieran stepped back to the seconds in 2017 to make room for the next generation of up-and-coming players. Winning the Reserves B&F in 2017 and then his BOG performance in the 2018 Premier Division Reserve Grade Grand Final testify to his enduring talent, ability and commitment to the code and to the Club.
Kieran will turn 44 later this year and is in his 21st consecutive season with the Demons. Rather than retire, Kieran continues to play good footy, now in the lower grades and Masters. In 2020, he was the Division Two’s Best & Fairest and was adjudged joint winner of the League’s Apted Medal.
In 2021, Kieran was the Best & Fairest in both the 3rd Grade and Masters team, respectively. He was also Masters Best & Fairest and Player’s Player in the last two seasons, 2024 and 2025. All up, Kieran has won the Penno Footballer of the Year twice, two League Medals and eight Best & Fairest awards across most of the grades. This is an unprecedented record at the Club.
With today’s game Kieran becomes the third member of the Demon’s 350 Club, joining current games recordholder Anthony Brawn (422) and Jason Clarke (361). The first player to reach the 300 games milestone was Chris Yard. He achieved this record in 2017 and eventually finished on 320 games, playing his last game in 2016.
On the occasion of his 350th game, the Club congratulates Kieran on his magnificent footy career at the Demons.
