This weekend the Club celebrates Tim Wolnizer’s 150th open-age game for the Pennant Hills Demons.
Tim, age 42, is in his 14 th season with the Demons. Tim, affectionally known as ‘Bone’, has had two stints at Penno, originally, 2004-05 and then returning to the Club in 2015.
He’s been a bit of a journeyman footballer originally playing ‘a little bit’ of footy in Geelong before joining Penno for the first time in 2004 after moving to Sydney as a teenager. After a facial reconstruction in 2006, he came back to footy, resuming his footy career with arch-rivals North Shore, playing 8 games in 2007-8. Then a knee injury brought about his early ‘retirement’.
In 2011, he was coaxed out of retirement and played 4 seasons at Macquarie Uni where he got to know club president Phil Hare. He played 50 games for MacUni. In 2015, Phil Hare lured Bone ‘back home’ to Penno, playing in the third grade team and taking on the role of Under 19 Development Coach and was Assistant Coach of the Under 19 Division 2 team.
Bone is a footy diehard and loves to regale anybody who will listen to him with his footy insights and playing prowess. He is a dedicated and respected club man. Such is his devotion to club and footy, he is happy to play wherever he is needed.
Although Bone hasn’t played for the Demon’s Premier Division team, he’s played in every other team from second to fourth grades. Since 2022, he’s also been a regular in the Masters team. Outside of Penno, Bone’s current coaching roles include the Under 13 GWS Academy boys and he has a
coaching development role at the AFL.
