Voting Eligibility Information

Membership of the Pennant Hills Australian Football Club Inc. is determined through any of the following:

  • Players: Register through the Club with AFL Sydney and pay your registration fees. Players under 18 on 1 January of their registration year are junior members without voting rights.
  • Supporters: Purchase a Club membership package.
  • Club Officials and Volunteers: Take on an official committee, coaching or team manager role, or another role that the Committee has approved as carrying membership rights.
  • Approved Membership: Be nominated by Club members and endorsed by the Committee at an ordinary meeting.
  • Life Membership: Be awarded Life Membership through the Club’s nomination and approval process.

Being a member does not automatically mean you can vote. Voting members must be at least 18, hold a current membership that carries voting rights and have paid amounts owing to the Club, except the current year’s annual membership subscription.

Memberships have different expiry dates. In particular, membership gained solely through a Club role expires when the next AGM begins. Supporter membership expires at the conclusion of the next AGM. Life Membership continues unless it otherwise ends under the Club’s rules.

Parents and guardians do not automatically become members through their child’s registration.

You can contact the Vice President Administration Matthew Carey via vpadmin@phafl.com.au to confirm your membership status or eligibility to vote.

Proxy Voting Instructions & Voting Form

If you cannot attend the AGM, proxy voting allows you to appoint another Club member to vote on your behalf. Proxy voting is authorised for the 56th Annual General Meeting.

To appoint a proxy:

  1. You must be a current Club member aged 18 or over and eligible to vote. All amounts you owe the Club must be paid, except the current year’s annual membership subscription.
  2. Choose another Club member to attend and vote on your behalf.
  3. Complete and sign a written proxy form identifying you, your chosen proxy and the meeting.
  4. Submit the form to the Club’s Administration Manager at least 48 hours before the AGM starts - 7:30pm Sunday 14 November. Proxy Voting should be submitted to Vice President Administration Matthew Carey via vpadmin@phafl.com.au.

You can tell your proxy how to vote on particular resolutions. If you do not provide instructions, your proxy may decide how to vote on your behalf.

Parents and guardians can only appoint a proxy if they independently qualify as eligible voting members.
